About
It is good to know the universe.
What is new is new only to us.
Pearl S. Buck
Trained as a psychologist and certified as a Maryland master naturalist, my passion for wildlife photography arises from a desire to capture the experiences of wild animals in ways that inspire people to put themselves inside another creature’s mind. My first goal is always to understand the animal’s world from the animal’s point of view and then to convey that perspective as effectively as I can to others. I strive to be as unobtrusive as possible and to allow the animal to control the encounter. I consider it to be a privilege and a joy to share time and space with every animal I photograph and to carry their beauty, their struggles, their lives, and their deaths back to my fellow humans in the hope that we will feel called to treat the world and all of its inhabitants with the respect that they deserve.
My work has been shown in galleries and featured in publications including Ecosphere, Wildlife Photographic Magazine, Paws Trails Aware Magazine, Audubon Midatlantic, and Maryland Natural Resource Magazine. Please contact me for fine art prints, licensing, commissions, and/or collaboration.
And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you, because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.
